HISTORY

  • 1920

    May 1928
    Ryutaro Kuwamura starts the weaving business at the current head office location.

  • 1940

    May 1947
    Toshiro Kuwamura reopens and restores a jacquard textile factory that was lost due to a wartime corporate maintenance order with 12 of his 56-inch looms.

  • 1950

    October 1950
    Established "Kuwamura Syokufu Co., Ltd."

    April 1955
    Opened Osaka Office

    November 1958
    Separated the Nishiwaki branch (establishment of Kuwamura Shoji Co., Ltd.)

  • 1960

    May 1963
    Separated Livestock Center (Kuwamura Foods Co., Ltd. was established)

    December 1966
    Established Kamikawara Factory

  • 1970

    January 1970
    Changed the trade name to "Kuwamura Co., Ltd."

    October 1975
    Separated the Fuhaku division (establishment of Kuwamura Fuhaku Co., Ltd.)

    May 1978
    Ceremony held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding

    October 1979
    Opened Tokyo Office

  • 1980

    May 1981
    Completed the head office building

    November 1989
    Shigeru Kuwamura became president and representative director

    November 1993
    Held Kuwamura Textile Comprehensive Material Exhibition in Tokyo (held 6 times thereafter)

  • 2000

    April 2002
    Opened Nishiwaki Office (merged with Kuwamura Shoji Co., Ltd.)

    December 2006
    Established Shanghai Kuwamura Co., Ltd.

    November 2009
    Tatsuo Kuwamura became president and representative director

    Exhibited for the first time at Première Vision PARIS (continued to exhibit thereafter)
